Privacy, in plain language

The short version: we can't read your inbox — you forward us only the school emails you choose. We use AI to summarize them into your daily brief, we don't sell or share your family's data, and deleting your account deletes everything.
We never have access to your inbox
Summarize It works by forwarding. You (or a Gmail rule you control) send school emails to your private @in.summarizeitforme.com address. We receive only what you send. There is no OAuth grant, no mailbox connection, and nothing for us to browse.
What we store
- Your account details: name, email address, and your kids' first names and schools as you enter them.
- The school emails you forward: sender, subject, and body text, plus the category, two-line summary, and to-dos we extract from each one.
- Your daily briefs.
Attachments are not stored in v1 — the brief flags them so you can check the original email. The full text of a forwarded email is kept for 30 days (long enough to build your briefs), then deleted — only the short summary and the to-dos remain.
AI processing — said plainly
To build your brief, the text of each forwarded email is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for classification and summarization. API traffic is not used to train Anthropic's models. We log token counts per account to keep costs honest; those logs contain no email content.
Who else touches the data
- Postmark receives your forwarded email and delivers your morning brief.
- Stripe handles payment; we never see your card number.
- That's the list. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone else, ever.
Deleting your data
Delete a kid and their messages and to-dos go with them. Delete your account and everything goes — emails, briefs, to-dos, billing records at Stripe are closed out. No archives, no "we may retain."
